This overscaled animal print is a nod to Duquette’s love of leopard skin. When Duquette was discovered by Elsie de Wolfe in 1940, he suggested using leopard skin in one of their projects together. “I invented leopard skin!”, Elsie informed her young apprentice. From that moment on, Tony embraced animal patterns, and even more so if they were overscaled like this new fashion-inspired wallpaper. Wildcat’s modern watercolor technique softens and adds depth to the dramatic pattern, and its high-gloss finish gives it an extra glamorous look.
