Thara blends our rich, longstanding tradition of handwoven Thai silk with modern textile technology, creating a true high-performance silk that is both luxuriously textured and durable for upholstery use. We’ve crossed a mix of Thai silk yarns in several different plies and colors with a fine but incredibly strong synthetic warp. Thara, which is named for the Thai word meaning ‘river’, has all the special beauty, slubs and nuance of our best hand woven silks, now with superb abrasion and fire-resistance. We’ve even applied nanotechnology for amazing and permanent stain repellency that retains the hand of the silk, which has been tumbled for extra softness. The extensive range of thirty shades includes many neutral-natural hues and clear colors, perfect for sofas, chairs, cushions and curtains in modern interiors.
