Sortelegium
Sortelegium is a Latin word meaning ‘enchantment’, and was the name of Tony Duquette’s 100 acre ranch in Malibu, California, which was created to resemble a ‘cabinet de curiosit ’ full of Duquette’s own works. The figures and fanciful bamboo framework which surrounds them are inspired by many of Duquette’s papier mach , coral and objets d’art that were displayed in his residences. Like all of these creations of Duquette’s, this elegant cotton print is also intended to inspire originality and creativity in those who use it.
