Gattopardo
The name ‘Gattopardo’ derives from Tony Duquette’s favorite Luchino Visconti movie, ‘El Gatopardo’, which is Italian for ‘the leopard’. Duquette developed a love for leopard patterns from his mentor, Elsie de Wolfe. When he suggested leopard skin fabrics for a project they were working on, de Wolfe shouted, “I invented leopard skin!” This cotton-blend jacquard weave is an adaptation of a vintage couture fabric, translated in classic natural shades of rich brown and gold and black mixed with silver grey.
